Mrs. Sowards received her Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Social Science from Findlay University and earned her teaching certification from Wright State University. Now in her twenty third year of teaching at Piqua Catholic School, Mrs. Sowards believes her role is to find the strengths in every child and build on them while instilling confidence and a natural curiosity for learning. As a proponent of active learning, Mrs. Sowards uses innovative teaching methods and unique field trips so students can apply knowledge in creative, meaningful ways. Mrs. Sowards enjoys walking and biking with her husband Ken and spending time with her family. She also takes pleasure in reading, card making, gardening, bird watching and traveling to our National Parks.
