Sister Mary Alice Haithcoat

Sister Mary Alice Haithcoat has been an educator in the Catholic School system for forty years and was recently recognized for her dedication to our youth. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Mount St. Joseph College and her Master of Education from Xavier University. Sister started her career at Holy Angels School in Sidney teaching fourth graders and junior high students. She later moved to St. Mary School in Greenville and taught students in grades five through eight. Five years later Sister became principal. In 1993 Sister joined the Piqua Catholic School community as the assistant principal and fourth grade teacher. During her tenure she also taught second and third grade before assuming the duties of principal in 2009. There has never been a student who doesn’t love and respect Sister Mary Alice. Sister prides herself on knowing each child enrolled at Piqua Catholic School and helping each student realize he/she can flourish as a child of God.
