The Catholic Education Foundation will fund three awarding categories for the 2026-2027 school year: CEF Elementary Awards (PK-8th Grade), Employee Awards, and High School Awards. The application for CEF Elementary Awards and Employee Awards will be open from February 1 through February 28. High Schools will be provided an award allocation, similar to prior years. The attached flyers can be shared with your PK-8 families and Catholic school employees.
The 2025-2026 application season saw significant increases in applications. CEF Elementary applications increased by 35% over 24-25 and Employee award applications increased by 83% over 24-25. All of these eligible applications were funded through the annual allocation from the Catholic Education Foundation, along with carryover funds of unused portions of the allocations from prior years. Those carryover funds have been depleted with the 2025-2026 awarding.
This year’s total allocation of $2.4 million will be broken into the three awarding buckets for the 2026-2027 school year, providing a cap on the amount of funds utilized for each of the three categories. As a result, it is expected that individual award amounts will be reduced from prior years. Individual award amounts will be determined after the closing of the application window and will be proportionate to the allocation given to each awarding category.
To be prepared to apply for CEF Elementary Awards, families should expect to submit their 2024 federal income tax return and W2s. Families with business income should be prepared to provide additional schedules as requested by FACTS for the business review. All requested documents should be submitted prior to the February 28 deadline.
